Election night was a difficult night for the many people targeted by Trump’s speeches. So many had voted for him to make good on his harmful promises, and it was a terrible day for many.
The next morning, we organized outside of our main classroom, Debartolo Hall, with a protest that lasted into the afternoon.
It was a powerful expression of resistance and support – that we were there for one another and willing to prevent whatever harm might come.
It was here that the name We Stand For was born, as a call and response chant.
